Interface 1: AI Chat

The AI Chat interface allows users to interact with AI directly within Excel using natural language.

Using the Chat Interface

  1. Access AI Chat:

    • Click the Menu button and select AI interface.



  2. Start a Conversation:

    • Choose an existing chat from the dropdown or click New Thread to start fresh.

    • Type your question or command in the input box using plain English.

    • Press Enter or click Send.

    • Rename or delete threads as needed.




  3. Interact with Excel:

    • Mention a specific range (e.g., Sheet1!B2:D10) in your prompt.

    • If no range is given, AI will use the current active cell.


  4. Interacting with Attachments:

    • Upload files via the Attach File button (supports PDF, PNG, JPG, TIFF, TXT, etc.).

    • Multiple files can be uploaded at once—up to a combined 50,000 tokens (~40,000 words).

    • Ask questions using terms like “Attached file” to reference uploaded documents.


  5. Workspace Memory:

    • Click “Workspace Memory” button to save workspace memories (like cost centre coding, account selections, rules and logics)—up to 1000 Characters.

    • Once saved, AI will memorize these preferences in future actions.



  1. Saved Prompts:

    • Click “Saved Prompts” button to store frequently used queries or commands.

    • Click “Run” to re-use the saved prompts.



💡 Pro Tips for Best Results

Use keywords in your queries to direct AI actions:

  • "My Excel" – to analyze, clean, or transform selected data

  • "Attached file" – to extract and use data from uploaded files

  • "My DB" – to query, edit, or update your database

  • "My Xero" – to pull reports or post entries into your connected Xero organisation

  • "Workspace Memory" – to train AI with your specific business logics for your workspace

  • "Saved Prompts" – to automate recurring accounting tasks
